Client: Delight African Carvings
Project: New web site
Web Address: www.delightcarvings
Project scope: Experience unique handcrafted art, jewelry & culture from Kenya. DAC has a variety of unique woodcarvings made from different types of wood such as Ebony, Teak, Rose, Mahogany, Jacaranda and Olive. Our jewelry is made out of copper/brass wire, cowry shells, beads, cow horns and cow bones. The horns are cut into various size, sanded and patterns are hand painted before the protective layer is applied on the bracelets. Bones are first treated, carved and then dyed using the batik method to create some very unique patterns for bracelets, earrings and necklaces. The t-shirts are either batiked or embroidered while Kikoys are made out of cotton wool. Baskets are weaved by using sisal material.
Originally from Kenya, the owners of Delight African Carvings support many craftsmen and their families in Kenya through their sales in the U.S.
